What questions do you have about vegan meal planning for diabetes?

I’m so honored to have been invited to take part in a HUGE online symposium about diabetes, happening on Learn it Live in June! My session is going to be on Sunday June 5th at 3:30pm Eastern, and is about how to plan vegan meals that won’t spike your blood sugar.

So many people think that vegan meals are too carb-heavy to allow them to maintain balance as a vegan, so I want to dispel that myth!

  1. I was hoping you might talk about some of the long term health consequences of binging & fasting and could these consequences permanent?

My type 2 diabetes seems to be in remission. My A1C tends to be in the 4's whenever I get it checked, but I'm not sure if that's too low.

    Thanks Heather.

  2. I want to know – is wheat rice white potato soya bad fro diabetics. Is sweet potato, brown rice, quinoa, millet, buckwheat barley good for deibetics.

Also what fruits are good – is watermelon, berries, peaches, necturines, plums etc etc good ? what fruits are bad? sweet ones like – bananas? mangos? grapes?

What about leafy green juices, smoothies with fruits and leaft greens

  3. Greetings. Tight control of T1 because of low carb vegan food choices and modest insulin. Recently, I become violently ill with vomiting (environmental contaminates). Recovery wanted small meals of bland food. Bland foods are generally high in carbs. What bland low carb vegan foods would you suggest? Thank you.

  4. We are addressing my hubby's diabetes DX with a whole food plant based diet. One thing that is really discouraging is that other people and other diabetics look at us like he has a death wish if he is eating brown rice or potatoes, no meat and not counting carbs. So how can we stay encouraged and informed when so much info/opinion out there is opposite. I don't want to make my husband worse. So vegan meal planning for diabetes is just what we need. I do have Dr. Barnhard's book. I wish more people understood this lifestyle as an option. Thanks Heather for your commitment to getting the word out about a healthy vegan-way of eating.

  5. I want to sign up!!! Super struggling with being in that pattern – sugar sugar sugar sugar sugar ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ ๐Ÿ™ not diabetic but might as well be
