The Box (2009) What if someone gave you a box containing a button that, if pushed, would bring you a million dollars…but simultaneously take the life of someone you don’t know? Would you do it? And what would be the consequences? The year is 1976. Norma Lewis is a teacher at a private high school and her husband, Arthur, is an engineer working at NASA. They are, by all accounts, an average couple living a normal life in the suburbs with their young son…until a mysterious man with a horribly disfigured face appears on their doorstep and presents Norma with a life-altering proposition: the box. With only 24 hours to make their choice, Norma and Arthur face an impossible moral dilemma. What they don’t realize is that no matter what they decide, terrifying consequences will have already been set in motion. They soon discover that the ramifications of this decision are beyond their control and extend far beyond their own fortune and fate.

  1. I would not push it… For what profit it a man, if he gains the whole world, but loses his soul? That million would spend quick (though, well), but it would nag and gnaw at the back of my mind, forever, whether I knew it or not. Stress, uncertainty, mental/emotional/physical strains…. that would wind up killing me, too (along with my wife, and maybe – by extension – my kids/parents/friends/who knows? Heart Attack, Suicide, Depression-related overeatting… fucking hell. Or maybe nothing at all. But THAT'S what would get to me… the Not Knowing.

  2. Wonderful! Oddly enough, I think this movie has much more to say about what it means to be created in the "image and likeness of God," than having a so-called human body does. It's not what we look like that counts; it's the way we behave toward one another that counts in the long run and may yet prove the saving grace of humanity. Physical mature and psychological mature are not the same thing.

  3. It's just a movie. Hated it. Wish I had not watched it. Creeped me out and oh so sad the way a button destroyed a family. Wake up call for them, but, too bad for man kind. Like I said, hated it. Not worth watching, considering how disturbing. Avoid. Don't borrow trouble. Left me feeling awful, better off listening to, "Healing Bird Songs". Seriously.

  4. I have this film on DVD, but the picture on this is way better. Soon all my movies will be outdated and blue ray won’t be any good because there will be red ray or purple ray or some shit! Lol
