A law regarding the accessibility of birth control pills went into effect April 8. Rather than having to go to a doctor, passing an examination and obtaining a prescription, state law now states that women can now go straight to a pharmacy and obtain birth control pills after filling out a questionnaire.

DISCLAIMER: Birth control pills are not available at all pharmacies as of April 17. While the law was passed to make this legal, it is unknown when they will be readily available.

See the full law here for information regarding the types of birth control that will be affected with the new law: http://www.pharmacy.ca.gov/publications/hormonal_contraception_protocol_rphs.pdf
