—The Wrap Up—*New Piece*
Christmas was done and it was time for Kevin to take down all the decorations once again; he found it as the worst part of all the Christmas traditions. It always made everything looked gloomy for a few days after that.
Taking out the packed boxes, dusting their dust off, opening them, reminiscing about the last year’s celebrations, getting apprehensive and excited for the coming year’s feast and gifts were the parts he enjoyed like most kids.
This year was especially not a good one. He wanted a bike; instead he got an ugly sweater with the snowman drawn on it. He had been a good boy but still Santa didn’t listen to him.
The only thing he was happy about was getting out of that ugly Christmas sweater. He was counting on his growth spurt to hit before the next year’s ordeal so that he didn’t have to wear it next year too.
As he cleared off his desk as it was time to keep all the ladies- Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph back into the box.
What Kevin didn’t know was that this year had been tough for everyone even for his favorite reindeers. They didn’t like this year’s Claus; he was rude, lazy and obnoxious.
With all the social distancing norms and pandemic guidelines across the globe, crew members had to improvise many things at the last minute. And if it wasn’t for the dedicated elven workforce and Dasher’s sewing expertise they would not have been able to produce complimentary masks which were mandatory as per the “authorities”, one with each gift packet.
Needless to say, that the crew was voting down the current Santa down in hopes of a better one next year.
And while Kevin was sad to put them into the box, the ladies were looking forward to some ‘me-time’ for themselves after a tough ride. They needed the rest before they can come out again next year and run across the sky to distribute cheers to every child.
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all had a blast even with the regulations and such. Sorry, I couldn’t update for the past few days because of unexpected celebrations.
Also, I decided to do the 2 prompts together as I don’t want to drag this into the new year. I hope to finish this before the 31st and start new things.
Please, bear with all the mistakes (grammatical/typos), if any, I did the best I could. Looking forward to hear your thoughts.
