On the Pulse | Women's Heart Health | Dr. Retu Saxena

On the Pulse is a series of online updates from physician leaders in research and care at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation® and Minneapolis Heart Institute® addressing the latest cardiovascular advancements and current challenges.

Heart disease kills more women than all forms of cancer, Alzheimer’s, and respiratory diseases combined. When it comes to heart disease, women are under-studied, under-diagnosed, and under-treated. In fact, women’s heart health research is 35 years behind that of men’s heart health research. This presentation gave an overview of cardiovascular disease, how it specifically affects women, and what steps are being done to close the gap.

This presentation features Dr. Retu Saxena. To learn more about the research that Dr. Saxena is involved with through the Penny Anderson Women’s Cardiovascular Center, click here: https://bit.ly/3ldB0Fp
