For decades, scientists have tried to find a cure for hair loss. It’s still not available only because there are many factors that cause hair loss.

Genetics obviously plays a massive role. And there are many genetic variables as well, it’s not just one or two but genetics aside, there are also major hormonal factors as well, mainly hormonal imbalance.

Have you ever heard the term, “short, fat, bald, and hairy”?

Well, the short and fat is from high estrogen… The bald and hairy is from high DHT levels.

Sadly, when both Estrogen and DHT levels are elevated, Testosterone is greatly REDUCED — which we do NOT want.

Now, science does know that if you do NOT have any DHT (dihydrotestosterone), which is produced from the conversion or reduction of testosterone by the 5-alpha Reductase enzyme, then you will not go bald.

You’ll also have a small and healthy prostate your entire life.

This is in fact, how the drug finasteride (also known as Proscar and Propecia) was discovered.

Of course, eliminating DHT later in life, does not guarantee a full head of hair.

It’ll surely decrease the speed of hair loss, slow it down, stop it and maybe even reverse it… Especially if you start early enough.

But again, it’s not a cure because as I stated earlier, there are many genetic, hormonal and external factors that cause hair loss.

However, growing up I thought it was all genetics – you either have it or you don’t.

But a long time ago I read a study that about 40%-50% of Japanese men who came to the US, started to go bald and were losing their hair.

Well, there is “epigenetics” and to keep it simple, epigenetics basically states that your environment or lifestyle can trigger or turn on or activate genes.

Maybe these genes are dormant or basically, sleeping in some people.

But something in your EXTERNAL world triggers and turns them on.

In this case, 40-50% got their so-called hair loss gene woken up and turned on. Again, I’m simplifying this.
