Homemade Fabric Scraps Christmas cards for kids

I love making homemade cards at Christmas time. They’re nice to have on hand when I’m giving a little gift (a gift card, bottle of wine, Christmas baking etc.) to friends, neighbours, teachers, the mailman, the paper girl etc.

We’ve made lots of them over the years, but my favourites were these Christmas cards made from scraps of wallpaper samples, and the button snowman cards we made last year.

The other day when we were making scrap fabric Christmas tree ornaments, the thought came to me to make this year’s homemade cards with some of the colourful scraps.

I kept my designs simple so kids can make them, but you can get as detailed as you like with your own.

Great for all ages

This is a great craft for kids of all ages to make at home, school or Sunday School.

See all of our Sunday School Christmas Crafts here.

Kids who can safely handle a sharp pair of sewing scissors can make these cards all by themselves For younger children, have an adult do the cutting, and the child can glue the fabric pieces to their cards and even trace around the pieces for some extra skill development.
