Easy Bacon Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich
I have to say we didn’t really feel great and really didn’t want to make dinner. So, we came up with this easy sandwich. Bacon and blue cheese are such a great combo as it is, and well, when you add an air fried crunchy chicken breast….You get a sandwich that will blow your friends and family away with the amazing flavor. I do think the next time we make it we might add an Avocado.
As I mentioned, this sandwich is seriously easy to make and will make everyone think you spent a long time making these yummy sandwiches. Hey, you can be like us….make everything and let our friends build their own sandwiches. After all, with this sandwich, the hardest part is actually building the sandwich. Haha
Ok, I’m a lover of bacon!!! I could have bacon ever morning for breakfast. My Mom used to always pan fry bacon. Now she knew how to pan fry bacon so it was always prefect. I never really figured out the trick to pan fry it to perfection. When I was a freshmen in High School, one of our teachers challenged us to eat breakfast everyday for a week. I grew up on a Dairy Farm and we all had chores to do early in the morning. My major chores were to feed the horses every morning. So usually I didn’t have time for Breakfast.
Of course wanting to make sure I followed what the teacher asked us to do, I hurried with my chores. Put some bacon in the fry pan, turned the oven on high, and ran upstairs to shower and get dressed. DON’T ever do that!!! I came downstairs to see my brother putting the fire out. Yes! I burnt up several cabinets in my parents kitchen. Oh, they had just finished remodeling the kitchen. Since I had a great brother, he hurried me out of the house and drove me to school. As if my parents would not notice the kitchen. As you can imagine, it was not cool that night after school!!!
Needless, to say I don’t like to pan fry bacon! So, normally I place the bacon on a cookie sheet and put it in a 375 degree oven and bake for 20 – 25 minutes. Works great!….Until now-the only way I’m making bacon is in the air fryer!
Air Fry Bacon for 6 minutes at 400 degrees. Flip and bacon and air fry for 4 more minutes. Perfect bacon and so easy to make!!! Oh, if you want some spice, sprinkle on some cayenne pepper before cooking. Nice spicy bacon! Perfect for this Bacon, Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich!!!!
Air Fryer Bacon, Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich
The Air Fryer Bacon, Blue Cheese Chicken Sandwich is a crispy crunchy air fried chicken sandwich topped the classic combo of bacon and blue cheese.
- 1 Pound Chicken Breasts
- 1/2 Cup Panko
- 1/2 Cup Corn Flakes
- 1/4 Cup French’s Onions
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 Tablespoons Flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 Egg
- Cooking Spray
- 6 Slices Bacon
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper Optional
- 2 Buns
- 1 Tablespoon Blue Cheese
- 1 Tablespoon Lite Ranch Dressing
Air Fry Chicken
Season chicken with Salt and Black Pepper
Combine Panko, Corn Flakes, French’s Onions, and Garlic Powder
Add Panko, Corn Flakes, French’s Onions and spice to a food processor and mix
In a shallow bowl beat egg
Sprinkle 1/2 Tablespoon flour on each side of the chicken breast. The flour should coat the chicken breast
Dip chicken breast in egg
Sprinkle the panko mixture on to the chicken
Gently press the panko mixture on both sides of the chicken
Spray the Air Fryer with cooking spray
Lightly spray the chicken breast with cooking spray
Spray both sides of chicken breast with cooking spray
Cook chicken in the air fryer for 12 minutes at 400°
Flip chicken and cook for an additional 10 minutes at 400°
Check chicken for doneness, If you want it crispier cook for an additional few minutes. Using a meat thermometer, make sure the chicken is cooked all the way through.
Sprinkle cayenne pepper on both sides of bacon (optional)
Place bacon in Air Fryer for 6 minutes at 400 degrees. Flip bacon and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes at 400 degrees. Until it reaches desired doneness.
